I'm so freakin' bored.  I've noticed today that I am having trouble spelling. Just average words, my fingers aren't doing what my brain tells them.  Also, I said "pring" instead of "spring" today.  I do mis-speak fairly often, and have trouble remembering words that I want to use, which is insanely frustrating.  But now that I'm growing older, the frustration is turning into a shade of fear.  My left hand shakes of its own accord sometimes.  I can stop it if I try, but it worries me. And this forgetfulness. I used to be so erudite and articulate. Now I have to look up articulate! siiiiiiiiiiigh

I relate. I have "mild" cognitive impairment from fibromyalgia, but it doesn't feel mild to me. I sometimes feel like I've become functionally retarded when I start losing words or mixing up homophones. It's annoying as heck!

With the hand shaking thing, if you're on any psychoactive meds, it can cause that. Even if it never caused any problem before. I have to change my antidepressant about once every two years, or I'll develop a shaking hand, a twitching eyelid, or some such weird symptoms. It sucks, because if I find something that's working for me, I know I've only got a limited shelf-life on it before that starts happening. It doesn't work that way for everyone, but I'm one of the 'lucky' ones, I guess.

I hadn't thought about it being one of my antidepressants. Thanks for that info! Of course, I know I've had it longer than I've been on this particular med. Still, it's a possibility.

SSRIs are the biggest offenders, I think, but I've also had the problem with an SNRI. Is it your dominant hand? If it were just my non-dominant hand, for me, I'd probably live with it rather than change what works. But with me, it's usually my dominant hand or my eyelid - which is the single most annoying feeling in the world.

Actually, come to think of it, I think certain antidepressant meds can cause mild cognitive stuff too. You might ask your doctor about that too!

Yeah, it's my left hand. I'll be sure to ask about it.

I have a friend on antidepressants who had the same problems with memories and hand shaking just recently. She couldn't even write with a pen or pencil.

hmm

have you ever thought about taking a keyboarding class... I thought i was a very good typist, but I kept making little mistakes. Then I took a typing class and it made a HUGE difference. I still mess up a little though :)
