"We must be willing to get rid of the life we planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

For me, the life waiting would be a lot like this one, only easier in the right places...

Bible says we were meant to live on Earth, or rather, one that's in showroom condition.

Yes. But for all you know, the life that is waiting for you, if you were to "get rid" of this one, might be more difficult but also more satisfying.

Joseph Campbell rocks! I bet you would enjoy watching his lectures. There are some you can rent from netflix. "Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth" is a great one. My favorite Campbell quote is
"Follow your Bliss"

I didn't know he said that! I love that quote. I will have to check him out, I just joined Netflix again.

Here is the full quote:

Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn't know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn't have opened for anyone else.

~Joseph Campbell~

I wonder if I should be following that plan?

It's a hard plan to follow.

Hmmmm... so how do we know if we're throwing out baby, or bathwater?

Good question. To which I do not have an answer.
