If it's not one thing it's ten. Doesn't this sound like a broken record?

Mom's been on antibiotics for three weeks. She went to the doctor a couple weeks ago, he said her lungs were fine, but gave her meds. I didn't understand. Now she's at the emergency room with shortness of breath and blood when she coughs. Somehow this seems to me like she's neglecting herself. Why does she have to wait until she's coughing blood before she realizes something's wrong?

She and Floyd bought Scarlett an atomic clock. It won't set to our local time. Mom says she gave Scarlett directions for it, I've not seen them. The clock is pissing me off.

The air is pissing me off, but we already know that.

My apartment's condition is pissing me off.

I get my breaks, yes I know that and I acknowledge it. But goddamn. Why can't I just deal with one or two things at a time? Why does it have to be bad grades, stupid clocks, boring jobs damned assholes, boyfriends, moms, dads, babydaddies and cockroaches? All at once?

Is Mercury in retrograde or something? The moon is waning, I know that much. I'm still more fortunate than some. I'll try to focus on that.

Or something.

I have a couple of the atomic clocks and a watch. You need to set them to your local timezone. It's not intuitive and you need to follow the little booklet that comes with them. Then they need to sync with Colorado and that can take a couple of nights. Best to set them in a west facing window overnight, preferably away from electronics. i like mine but they are always a pain to reset when the battery dies

I guess I need to find the booklet then. God only knows where Scarlett's left it. It has set itself to Pacific time several times, but when I try to move it to eastern it shuts down. So anyway.

Might find it on the manufacturer's website as a PDF file you can download...

Some of us just won't go to the doctor unless we know that it's serious. I can't criticize your mother; I'm one of them. In any event, lots of good thoughts for her health.

I had Cinnamelts from McDonalds. They (only to me) are actually better than chocolate. Melted buttah is ALWAYS better in my book.

Hmmmmm that's not good. Errrrrr. Either your mom wants to be ill... or... wants sympathy... or something.

Maybe she doesn't realise something's wrong.

If you are ahving trouble you could try looking online? What brand of clock is it?

That's life for you =(((

*hugs*

I hate that this is true, but I know EXACTLY what you mean about your mother. My mother has chronic asthmatic bronchitis (amongst a host of other illnesses) and has more than once taken it to the point of coughing blood before agreeing to see a doctor. When I was at the beach this summer, she coughed blood the whole time and tried to hide it. Once we confronted her, she promised she'd see a doctor just as soon as the whole family left town. My sister bet her she wouldn't and that's the only reason she finally did. To save the $100 she bet my sister. I don't understand it, either.

My mom had that scare earlier this year with congestive heart failure, because she'd had pneumonia and ignored it until she started coughing up blood. She had a bone marrow transplant over 5 years ago, but her immune system has been compromised for ever. She needs to be more vigilant about having trouble breathing, etc. She thinks because she's got asthma now that breathing treatments are going to be the cureall.
