Penn Station sandwiches are not worth the price. Steak Escape tastes better, and is cheaper. (Not much cheaper, but still.)

I spent too much money last night.  I bought a lockbox for Scarlett's PS2 controller and the computer modem. And her NeoPets thingy. These will NOT be used during the afternoon when she is home alone. That will be time for homework, chores, and reading. Of course she'll watch t.v., unless I unhook the cable instead of the modem. That's a thought if she has behavior issues.

I also bought a new pair of tennis shoes which I desperately needed.  The heel spur is giving me grief over wearing sandals every day.  Just a few more weeks, feet.  I bought a copy of Chuzzle - HOORAY FOR JENNY! And ANOTHER DVD player. This is the second one this year. I don't know what we're doing wrong, but I wish my boyfriend were electronically inclined. I hate trying to figure this shit out alone. It was easy when it was just a blinking clock. But hooking one to another to another is getting tough.

She had a meltdown last night, and didn't get to sleep until close to midnight. Neither did I. She had another meltdown this morning over her hair. She won't make the effort to get the brush through it all because it hurts to brush through the tangles. I've already had her hair cut once because of this. I WILL do it again if she doesn't learn to brush through the pain. I had to learn, everyone with a "tender head" has to learn. But she recovered, and I didn't blow up. It was a victory over all.

Saw another bug this morning. Undefined type. Bygod I WILL get these bastards licked. Heavy duty scrubbing will be required. And much spraying in the cracks. I fucking hate cleaning. But I hate bugs more. And I WILL move that furniture around. I don't care who likes it or doesn't. I've got pictures to move, and a 50 pound mirror to hang. Whoo hoo. Who wants to help, said the little red hen.

I had a similar issue with Simone over her hair. I did get it cut off once, from shoulder blade to chin, when she was about 3 years old, over the tangles and her not wanting to brush it. Sometime over the summer though, she took more of an interest in taking care of her hair (my girlfriend Amanda, who is a hairdresser, talked some sense into her and gave Simone her very own hairbrush to use). So now she brushes it every day, and if not every day, when I tell her it needs attention.

I'm so glad that ordeal is over.

Damn. Our ordeal persists into her 11th year. She has more hairbrushes than she can find. The screaming apparently isn't worth looking good, in her mind. That's ok. Leigh's daughter has an adorable cut that will look great on Scarlett.

yes, scarlett would look cute with the kind of cut laine has. and ohhhhh the tears, drama and diva-ism that's been saved by cutting off a mere 3-4 inches of hair.
she can actually use 2 in 1 shampoo now and still get a brush through it.

More reason to seriously consider it. Damn.

You don't have to comment, but be sure and read a couple posts back, from yesterday evening.

Are you having your heel spur removed?

No. It's not bad enough yet. They gave me a boot to wear when I sleep but I can't walk in it, and I get up too often to go to the bathroom during the night. It's basically a pain in the ass which hurts more than the pain in my heel.

You probably know this, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. When you are brushing out tangles, start at the end of your hair, not the root. Comb until it comes through okay and then move up an inch. It takes WAY longer, but it hurts WAY less. Also, if you hold onto the hair above where you are combing, it won't pull on your scalp as much, if at all. It's how they taught us to brush out tangles in beauty school. I'm a beauty school dropout. HAHAHA. I love that!

Oh yeah. Those are things that I definitely do. My little sister didn't get her first hair cut until she was eleven. LONG insanely curly thick hair. I'm well versed - plus I have a tender head as well.

I have a scalp of steel. You can just about do anything to my head and I won't feel it. It's like I'm wearing a hard hat all the time. LOL.
