OH I KNOW! I saw a "news link" while checking into my netscape mail, and when I clicked I found this message board - BY MISTAKE! Fortunately by the time I'd read a few, I'd seen one that said he lives and one that said he dies. So I'm right back where I started. And I didn't click on ANY of the links they were discussing. BAH!
Well, I did muse on how to avoid this in my April 22nd post (Ralph Malph...').
However, out of sheer curiosity, do either of you, however, have any feelings as to how you feel things should end up? I'm hoping for redemption for Draco; he was just a kid who'e been brainwashed all his life, after all. Maybe he'll have his eyes opened. Not that everyone's going to end up best bud's, necessarily; he could ultimately reject the dark side, but tell Harry "I still don't like you, Potter" (it'd sound more realistic, anyhoo...).
I just desperately want Harry to live. But I WOULD like some sort of inclination about romantic entanglement for him, preferably with Ginny. The actress they use for his mother looks SO much like her.
Well, Rowling says he follows a christ-like path so people are assuming he's going to die and be resurrected. They don't really know. It's safe to listen to them because they are really just spekul-Atin.
I can't remember where I read that, probably on mugglenet.com or a similar site, but she was basically saying that if a reader is paying close enough attention, Harry's story can easily be likened to Christian mythology and she noted, that should tell us how it will end. I figure Voldemort=Satan in this equation, which isn't a stretch at all and therefore the young whipper-snapper to come along at a late date and overthrow Satan/V. would be Jesus/Harry.
I'm also taking that bit about how things always come back to you even if it is in unexpected ways to be a pretty important bit of foreshadowing. They seemed to really emphasize it in this most recent movie (even needlessly, as it wasn't crucial to the plot for ootp). I think that Dumbledore, Sirius, his parents, etc. will all be in this next book in some way. It seems to me that the books have been one long, drawn out process of making Harry almost completely alone--at least without mentors. I think he has to face V. alone in order to be successful. Anyway, I'm rambling. :)
Our radio station we have for Surrey and Hants is gonna read the last chapter. on the 8 am breakfast show. So thats fucked it right up. Most people won't have the book and this 1 guy is gonna ruin it.
