Stop telling me
Jesus wants me
to forward this email
To prove I love Him. 

No he doesn't. 

He told me so. 

You see I talk to Him every day.
All day long, in fact.
I don't kneel and pray in the morning
Jesus and I have a conversation
that has run through my head
Since about 1981. 

In fact, He told me
Just yesterday
that if you don't stop sending those emails
He's going to SMITE you. 

Just kidding.
He said nothing of the sort.
But when I get one of those emails
He DOES tell me
"Love her. She's filled with
enthusiasm - and she loves you.
This is her way of showing it.
So love her back."

And I ask Him
"Is it okay if I love her back in my way?"

And he says "Sure. As if you need to ask."

See? That's why I love Him.
Well, that and the whole redemption business.

I love this! I have an Aunt Sue in Mississippi and the only e-mails I get from her are "Jesus loves you" type stuff.
But hey, it's the only way she knows to show me she is thinking of me, so I accept it in the manner given.

I had someone defriend me over it.

That weekend she send me a "Jesus loves me" email.

I told her not to email me anymore.

I was a tad upset.

I just couldn't deal, and reading this...I feel really bad.

Don't feel bad! See this for what it is - a smart-assed way to mentally deal with people who get on my nerves. I get my feelings hurt when people defriend me, ESPECIALLY if they do so because they take exception with something I say (as opposed to just moving on in life, etc.) My bitter resentful streak is the reason I wrote this - to kinda remind myself that I'm supposed to love those people anyway.

You put on a very positive face in your journal, and the people who read it appreciate that. Anyone who could possibly take offense at the post you mentioned is precisely the kind of person who NEEDS to read it. While you might have reacted in an injured fashion, truth is maybe that person needed to hear "Don't email me any more" in order to force her to step back and take a look at herself.

I DID take a look, before I asked. I noticed we have some friends in common, and I've seen you on their journals before. You seem intelligent and balanced, which are fairly crucial requirements for me to add someone.

I was primarily asking because if you want to know more, I can add you and thus allow you to see a more personal side of me. If you're just curious and adding me to see what comes next without any back-reading, then that's cool, too.

I get emails that say something like, "Why aren't you forwarding this to all your friends? You don't hesitate to forward dirty jokes..." Well, actually, that's not true. I don't forward stupid ANYTHING.

Yeah, I kinda hate those, too. I also have a problem with attachments embedded about three emails deep, with a power point program that starts blaring "At The Cross" music with cartoon puppy dogs and butterflies.
