Yep, drivin' home from Sunday School and I'm scanning through the stations when this funny line "None of this was makin’ sense but then it dawned on me, When she referred to her old man as that cheatin s.o.b." So I stopped and listened, and cracked up all the way home! Should have KNOWN it was Tracy Byrd, I absolutely adore him; even tho I've stopped listening to country music, who can resist a long tall Texan? Well, not me - not that one anyway! LOL Here's the lyrics, cause its too funny not to share.
Revenge of the Middle Aged Woman - sung by Tracy Byrd
I don't know who wrote it, its a new release and the info online is sketchy.
I was looking for a cheap car in the Sunday classifieds
When an ad jumped out and hit me
Right between my bugged-out eyes
It was a 2 year old Mercedes for 700 bucks
I couldn’t make my trembling fingers
Dial that number fast enough
The woman who picked up the phone
Said yes its still for sale
But I’ve had about a thousand calls
So you’d better move your tail
Well I drove up that long driveway
With the cash there in my hands
She met me at the garage in a short skirt and a tan
We took it for a test drive
I couldn’t believe my luck
She said I’ll throw in them Arnold Palmer golf clubs
They're in the trunk
None of this was makin’ sense but then it dawned on me
When she referred to her old man as that cheatin s.o.b.
It was a classic case of a woman scorned
She’ll make that man wish he had never been born
She’s a 40-somethin’ year old judge and jury
Hell hath no fury like revenge of a middle aged woman
So she took me out to breakfast
Put it on his credit card
By the time they poured the coffee
She was pourin’ out hear heart
Stories of his sneaking round and sordid escapades
Secretaries waitresses and bimbos half his age
She said you know there’s one thing that I oughtta thank him for
He ticked me off so much I put new locks on the doors
It was a classic case of a woman scorned
She’ll make that man wish he had never been born
She’s a 40-something year old judge and jury
Hell hath no fury like revenge of a middle aged woman
Well I believe good wine and women get better with time
And if you ask me that man’s a fool, or else he must be blind
I’ll never know his motives, can’t get inside his head
But I’m driving that Mercedes and I’m sleepin’ in his bed!
Its a classic case of a woman scorned
She’ll make that man wish he had never been born
She’s a 40-something year old judge and jury
Hell hath no fury like revenge of a middle aged woman
Revenge of a middle aged woman
I know I oughtta feel guilty about something
I just can’t think of what it might be
LOL In searching for the words, I was reminded why I love Tracy Byrd. The first song I ever heard him sing was this one, and I just flipped head over heels. It loses something when you can't hear him, tho.
Someone To Give My Love To
(by Bill Rice/Jerry Foster)
Well I could search from now till the end of time
And never find another you
I'm so glad because I know you're mine
Someone to give my love to
I believe my love that you're one of a kind
For there's no one else like you
You're the light of my life so let it shine
Someone to give my love to
I find that happiness is loving you
And I'll do my best to make your dreams come true
I will follow you to the end of the earth
For my place will be with you
Now I have taken you for better or worse
Someone to give my love to
Yeah I find that happiness is loving you
And I'll do my best to make your dreams come true
Days of man and wife time are precious few
I will spend them all with you
For in beyond forever I'll wait for you
Someone to give my love to
Mmm...
And two more reasons why I'll still listen to Tracy, even when I won't listen to Country any more...
You Feel Good
Written By: Tom Shapiro and Bob DiPiero
I like sleeping in the nude
When It's hot and the moon is full
I like a little ice in my drink
And the sound when it clinks, that's cool
But when I need maximum sensation
I turn to you
Cause you feel good
Yeah, you feel good
I like a little itch in my neck
When a song won't let me go
I like a shower beating down
Steam rising all around like smoke
But when I wanna feel a rush that goes a little deeper
I turn to you and you feel good
Baby, you feel good, baby you feel good
I like the velvet of your skin
When I'm holding you in my arms
And I like the way that we connect
The way that you caress my heart
Everytime I need love and understanding
I turn to you...and
You fell good
Yeah, you feel good
Baby, you feel good
Yeah, you feel good
Like I want a shout
I wanna cryI wanna make you feel exactly what I feel inside
Yeah, you feel good
Baby, you, you make me feel so good
A Little Love
by Pat Terry & Tia Sillers
She underdressed for the occasion
She wants to go back home and change
A maid of honor wearing waitress shoes,
Just looks strange
Her little brother’s getting married
A spur of the moment kind of thing
And she’s giving up her lunch break,
Holding the ring
She’s never been the jealous kind,
But she can’t seem to stop,
That little voice inside …. saying,
I don’t have to have it all
I’m not asking for the world
I don’t need a star to fall
I just need a little light
Someone shining in my life
‘Cause in the dark when you’re afraid
A little love can go a long, long way
There was a man she met one summer
His memory keeps her up at night
At the time it felt all wrong
But what if it was right?
Now here she is, throwing the rice
Standing on the sidewalk,
Trying not to cry….thinking
I don’t have to have it all
I’m not asking for the world
I don’t need a star to fall
I just need a little light
Someone shining in my life
‘Cause in the dark when you’re afraid
A little love can go a long, long way
When it’s lonely in your life
And you’ve almost lost your faith
A little love can go a long, long way
