Wednesday Night
Aug. 27th, 2008 09:38 pmWhat's the deal with Bill Clinton's nose?
Brent and I have worked out a lot of his "issue" regarding Scarlett's discipline. He's made me believe that he does not truly hold the opinion he voiced last weekend. Trust will still need some building, because his solution to the problem is to call me earlier in the evening when he's not quite as drunk, rather than later at night. Not exactly my idea of a resolution, but I have long known that there is a wide difference between 7 p.m. Brent and 9:30 p.m. Brent. 9:30 p.m. Brent's words and opinions must be ignored. I don't know how that's going to work if we were ever to live in the same house. So, no marriage yet.
Started packing files today, much to my back's dismay. Several of us are being moved to another part of the building, to make room for our insurance provider to move in. No one is happy. We're mostly disgusted, but we're packing all the same. At least I'm getting to wear jeans for a couple of days.
A Labor Day festival known as Regatta will take place this coming weekend. Parades, outdoor concerts, a carnival, etc., and fireworks at the end. It's a miserable crowded event, but I'm hoping it won't be terribly hot. Scarlett wants to see "Puddle of Mud", but I'm not sure. I've not heard them. Anybody have an opinion about this band?
Today we got the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay. (Faye? Fey? Fai?) Or was she a hurricane? I dunno. Anyway, it rained a good bit, and the sky was heavily clouded, with lots of moisture hanging in the air after the rain. It felt like mid-October. Suddenly fall, but it was nice out for a change. The trees are already changing and shedding. I hope we get a bit more summer before Fall hits for good.
I have two books on the way, courtesy of
bluesgirly. Life is Ridiculous and Fountain of Marvelous, paid for by the money Leigh Paypalled me for taking care of her cats a few weeks ago. i'm so excited!! I love reading Valerie's LJ, and I'm sure I'll love these books.
Birthdays coming up in a couple of weeks. Not sure what we shall do, nor do I know what I'll buy for Scarlett. She would like to go to Red Lobster for dinner, which is doable. We should invite her grandparents and a couple of favorite cousins. That would be nice, to have a big table full of family.
Scarlett has two days of seventh grade under her belt. We were ten minutes late this morning, but I don't think that will become a pattern. I hope we can continue to get along in the mornings. I hate to take stress at home to work.
I think that's about it. I've been reading, commenting on occasion. Just haven't had much to say.
