Scarlett has been a gem this week. Not every chore has gotten done to my specs, but for the most part, they HAVE gotten done. The modem was taken away ONE day. Otherwise she's had full access to t.v., PS2 and the online computer games. I'm so proud of her.
My kid sister, who is in training to be an respiratory therapist, is getting a lot of practice at the hospital right now. She'll graduate next year, and I am insanely proud of her too. She intubated a couple of people this week, which is terribly hard. She's done all KINDS of stuff, and will be taking more Spanish so that she will be worth more when she's hired. All this, and her baby girl will be a year old next month. All 3 of my dad's grandchildren were born in September. Caroline was actually born on the day before my birthday. I can't wait to meet her. I wish I had the money to go down there right now.
I have a story brewing in my head, but it's only in the beginning stages right now. More on that later.
I've been packing files all day, and am a bit sore. Not like I was last time I UNpacked them, when I ended up on Workers Comp for 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping that won't happen this time, but I am a bit apprehensive about unloading these boxes once they're moved. That is when I really get into trouble. All this in order to move from one side of the building to the other. It's ridiculous.
But not as ridiculous as what they are doing to my office neighbor! Her desk will be stuck in a corner of her file room on the 3rd floor, while ALL the people she works with and for will be on first floor. Absolutely unconscionable. (sp? whatev)
I've had 3 Lortab this week to fight off the back issues. Many of those issues stem as much from being tense while I move and lift as they do from the fact that my back is weak from several injuries over the years. A weak back is also a genetic issue from my mother's side. The side effects of Lortab have plagued me this week, but I finally got some resolution to THAT issue yesterday and today. My mouth is constantly dry, but I suspect that is as much from my increased doses of Cymbalta and Lamictal. Or maybe it's the bladder pill. Dear god, who the hell knows. Even my throat is dry. Aargh.
I've ordered a couple of gift cards from Visa using my bonus points. They are for the Darden Restaurants group, which includes Red Lobster and Olive Garden. I'm thinking I'll ask Brent to take Scarlett and me to Red Lobster for our birthdays. I'll invite mom and my stepdad, and whoever else I feel like seeing. Scarlett has asked to go for her birthday, so that's what we'll do. I have her for the weekend of her birthday, and I'm so glad. Still not sure what I'll buy her, but we'll definitely hit a movie or two, and find us some nummy sushi at some point.
Ruthie is in New Orleans, as are a few other folks that I'm aware of here on LJ. New Orleans is under a weather advisory, and Ruthie needs some mental and moral support. I just want to run down there and hold that damned water back myself. Please God don't take that city away from us!
Gym's been quiet this week, and so have I. Shout out to you, my man! Do you know that when Brent is stupid-drunk and about to pass out, you are the only person he mentions when he talks of being jealous? I've never told you that. Mostly because it's so damned ridiculous, and even Brent knows it's stupid when he's sober. I thought you might get a bit of a kick out of that.
Ooh! I have completed that meme that was going around. I guess I'll post it!
The How Well Do You Know Your Significant Other meme
( My answers about him )
And his answers about me...
( Make wit' da clicky! )
He missed a few, and I missed his shoe size. But I've been memorizing him for a lot longer than he has me. Heh
Okay, I think I'm done. I'm gonna go to bed and ride out this Lortab. I wish I had some more.
