Jul. 24th, 2005 09:12 amOkay, so I did something stupid. I left a picture post open to the public - I don't know, .... at the time it didn't bother me, but I've been pretty open about myself, where I am, etc., on here, and sometimes I know that's a stupid thing to do.
I got an anonymous comment on the post early this morning. Totally unthreatening - but for some reason it just sent chills down me.

too bad? <input ... > |
Cute girl in the pic too.
So I scurried around and friends-locked the post. And then to reassure myself, I checked my StatCounter - marvelous thing, that. Records the ISP address of everyone who looks at my journal. Its the little secret that makes me feel quite smug about anonymous commenters. The ISP address is remarkably accurate, because I can program mine into the StatCounter and it will not register my visits. If I don't stay on top of it, I will suddenly appear on my counter, because apparently it changes on occasion, just slightly. So its accurate, no question.
This particular commenter has been here to look around before. I even know that the commenter uses Firefox, when I go to the stat breakdown.

The times don't match because the StatCounter is located in a different time zone than LiveJournal, but they match according to my Yahoo mail inbox.
But for some reason, my paranoia is not completely assauged.......
