Ice is melting, but there's another threat of snow on the way this weekend.  I haven't even been in my backyard yet, too much snow and I can't find my snowboots.

We watched August Rush last night, Brent bawled like a baby.  I really didn't figure he'd enjoy it that much, but he did.  I did too; I love Freddie Highmore, and could look at Jonathan Rhys Myers every day.   It barely missed the cheesy Hollywood ending award, but I would have liked to see his mother introduce herself and his father.  That's a scene I'd enjoy watching Freddie act out.  

Got rid of 3 bags of towels, but still have a laundry basket full and nowhere to put them.  I guess I'll work on my office this weekend in hopes that will clear more storage space.   I can't wait until I have my computer hooked up so I can post pictures. 

I've been watching the Sherlock Holmes series on PBS.  The shows are beautifully done period pieces, but for some reason none of the mysteries seem difficult to figure out.   I wonder why that is?  Maybe because they're only an hour long, so they have to go from shock to satisfaction quickly?  I dunno.  All I know is it's British t.v., and therefore must be watched.  (pronounced "watch-ed")  I've been watching "Southland" too - it's VERY good.  I saw the first episode of this season's "Damages" last week.  THAT was wonderful.  I can't wait for the next episode, but haven't figured out when it's going to be broadcast.  I guess I'd better look it up when I finish here.  "Doc Martin" has been repeats these last few weeks.  I still love that show, tho.  I watched Saving Grace, the movie on which the character was based, and loved it VERY much.  Of course I love anything Craig Ferguson does, as well as Martin Clunes. 

I wish I had something funny or clever to tell you all.  I feel squelched and uncomfortable in my own skin most of the time.  It's going to take a few more months for me to start feeling at home in our neighborhood, and to start feeling like I'm doing more than marking time between work hours.  I need a routine that involves more than getting home and getting ready for bed.

Well it comes in from the West, so likely you'll get some by the beginning of next week. We're expecting snow on Friday, Saturday, and again on Wednesday.

Only for now. People are taking the threat of more snow this weekend very seriously. I can't remember a winter when it has snowed so much, and it's only February.

I loved August Rush - like you said, the ending was cheesy, but the kid is so great (and the "dad" so cute) I didn't really mind ;)

Seems like a lot of folks are going through a funk right now. It's winter - so hope is just around the corner!
