You might want to check and see if you can use it. Not all Bennigan's are closed. In San Antonio, all the Bennigan's are franchises and are staying open.
It does indeed suck! But I can't help thinking that Visa didn't know Bennigans was going out of business. Still, it's frustrating, and I will definitely contact SOME body.
Probably they cards were prepared weeks ago and were just lined up, waiting to be sent out. HOWEVER, Visa HAD to know they were going out of business, because Bennigans probably accepted Visa cards!
Nah...The only people that knew Bennigans were going out of business were the owner group of Steak and Ale. Visa is a transaction company that only processes cards from vendors. The first they'd know is when they got a bigass memo that said "don't process any more charges from Bennigans". That said, Visa have a solid reputation for looking after their rewards points members, so they'll more than likely reissue a new card for elsewhere (don't order a Washington Mutual gift card!)
