I loved your narrative, I have this picture of a fresh faced little girl with grubby knees and it's adorable. Dashing around and having fun on the farm ^_^ The other things must have hardened you up, I couldn't watch those things - well the shooting of cattle. Strange when you think what I did at the age of 12 - shot my first live animal.
I like the smell of hay bales and hay lofts, and wood smoke fires.
Ahh Army Surplus they turn up everywhere.
I wish i was as artistic as koonelliphant, I could draw what I can see in my mind.
