I colored my hair last night. Used a light auburn, and my hair is almost black.

SOOOO dark.

Brent is NOT going to like it.

More importantly, I DON'T LIKE IT.

I'm pissed - apparently my hair has become too porous or the box was mislabeled. It's almost my original color, but the highlights have a sort of weak gold tint.

I look like Ashlee Simpson.

ANd I HATE Ashlee Simpson.   She's a wanna-be brunette, the worst kind.

My dark hair never looked right with my skin tone.

Oh well. Time to make the donuts.

EDIT:  I paid more in state taxes than I did in federal this year. WTF???

ooooh....okay. lemons. let's make lemonade, here. get yourself a chunking kit or highlighting kit in a pale blonde and highlight your hair. that should lighten it up and give it some dimension. or you can go to sally's and get stuff to strip it out altogether.

Since I've been straightening I know I'm damaging my hair with all this heat and shit. So I'm too chicken to strip it. And it takes professional strength stuff to lift my hair, because it's so damned dark to begin with. I think I'm gonna wash it a couple of times and see what happens.

Or I might just come to your house on Sunday with a bag fulla lemons. lol

bring your own juicer!

c'mon down.
you'll...umm...just have to bring something to smoosh the lemons with, because jenny did hook me up for christmas with the kitchenware, but you know firsthand how pitifully ill-equipped i am to do much of anything with food. heh.

organic or no, i fear the lemons. i used sun-in on my hair when i was a teenager and neglected to realize (or read the bottle) that you get....interesting....color results if your hair is chlorinated. and i LIVED in the pool. i had booger-green hair and my mom about killed me.

My sister's hair used to get green every year, and she didn't use a damned thing on it. She was just naturally platinum. It always made me laugh. (kinda quiet, to myself.)

i once let my sister walk out of the mall restroom with the back of her skirt stuck in her pantyhose. nude pantyhose. control tops, even.
hey, i wasn't The Perfect One. i had to enjoy stuff like that when i could.

EXACTLY! I wasn't the perfect one either, and I've had issues with being "NOT blonde" that have required years of therapy.

i was blonde, but i was also the chunky, mouthy, artsy-fartsy, liberal, non-conformist with the tattos and piercings who snarked at the homecoming queens and made my family full of bourgeoisie snoots cringe - The One Mom Wasn't Proud Of, so much.

...whoa. am i still bitter? *naaaah* LOL!

And I was the college drop out slut who got pregnant without bothering to get married. (never mind I was fucking 30 when I did so)

STOP!!!!
DANGER!! DANGER!!!
DO NOT TRY TO SRTIP THAT OUT ON UR OWN!! YOU WILL BE LUCKY TO KEEP HAIR ON UR HEAD IF U DO THAT!!
go to ur hairdresser asap or come over and we can get the good stuff from the professional supply house. i have some mega-conditioner i can give u.
do not try to bleach that out, you can bleach over ur hi-lites and the new color could make it turn anything from baby-shit yellow to neon pink!

Oh you KNOW there's no way I'd do that on my own. I know how much bleach it takes to get color out of my hair.

I am actually getting used to it, and much to my surprise Brent likes it. A LOT. So it's gonna stay.
