Almost had a place. Fell through last night when we learned the landlord has decided no more pets for new tenants. Wish we hadn't wasted our time looking at the place, and seeing all the lovely ways we could make it work. Also wish we hadn't been so secure in our trust of how he's treated our friends in the past. It got Scarlett and me both excited that she would get to live with me during the school year, and that's not the case after all. Hope it lies vacant for a few more months, stupid asshat. He'll regret not renting to us, we pay our rent in full and on time.
So we're back to square one, looking through the various papers and websites every day, calling, calling, and finding fault in one after another location. I was so tense throughout my sleep last night that I woke up sore from head to waist, both arms and hands aching and nothing but restless thought wandering through my head.
We now spend more time trying to make one another laugh than anything else. Personally, my best so far has been "A chihuahua and a stepladder." That's funny no matter why you're saying it. Or at least I think so.
