Here are some bits of wisdom I picked up this morning, while waiting for Brent to get ready for work:
"Your past hurts may be the reason you have problems, but don't let them be the reason you keep them."
"You will keep going through your trials until you change how you react to them, or deal with them."
"God is more interested in changing you than changing your circumstances."
~Joyce Meyer
Brent was surprised to see her on the screen when he came out of the bathroom, and said "Don't TELL me you watch her!"
I said "I LOVE her!"
And I do. I don't agree with all of her doctrine but she is smart as a whip and straight to the point. She tells her life like it is, foibles and all, and I respect that. And I think she's funny. So there.
In other news, I'm doing remarkably well considering I spent eleven hours on my feet Monday at Seaworld. I didn't get to see every show I wanted to see, mainly because they were so fucking far apart. We did get to pet the Clydesdales, and see Shamu (tho no, John, I didn't get wet, much to my dismay). We saw a stupid walrus and seal show, and ate two or three times. My mother rode the water flume with a couple of kids, not including my own. She chickened out at the last minute, and regretted it. We were there until ten p.m. waiting on everyone in our party of 12 to re-meet.
Scarlett and I saw the pearl divers and each got an oyster. My pearl is 6.9 mm and a lovely white - hers is 7.6 and a deep iridescent blue. It's incredibly beautiful!
We went to Port Canavral to see the cruise ships, and to Cocoa Beach to hang out for a while. We had deep fried full belly clams which were very yummy. They were her first clams and she really enjoyed them, and I was proud of her. The clams were fixed at a funky little roadside shack, so you KNOW they were good!! We got some great shells, got in the ocean, came home sandy. All good things.
Scarlett spent most of the rest of her vacation in my cousin's cement pond, but has just a minor tan to show for it. I have NO burn anywhere, but the Seaworld trip was the only extended time I spent in the sun. I will NEVER live in Florida. NEVER.
NEVER.
The wedding was beautiful, and oh so very much fun at the reception. I have lots of pictures but can't post them because there are lots of different people in them. If I receive any pictures from anyone else with Scarlett or me in them, I will post them here. That might take quite a while, several of us had cameras. All in all it was a wonderful vacation, despite the fact that Brent wasn't there, and my mother was. We managed to get along very well. I am looking forward to a trip back there some time in the next year or so.
