15 degrees this morning.  But still not as bad as it has been, very little snow, expected to rain later, temps will head toward the 40's.

Somebody's been watching too much Andy Griffith.  I actually heard on the radio that morning that some man named Otis Campbell had died in Belle from natural causes.  It was ACTUALLY on the NEWS.  I'm willing to bet some stupid troopah made a smart-ass remark about "that sounds like something Otis Campbell would do" etc., and an equally stupid reporter seized on it.  Or maybe they used Otis Campbell as a John Doe until they figured out who he was. Who knows. Just clearly stupidity somewhere.

Well, it's time to try to start working again.  I hate this. grrr

By the way, during my week of sick, I went to the doctor. I hadn't taken anything that morning so that they would get a good impression of my body temperature, which had hovered around 102 all week, according to my trusty ear thermometer. Which I LOVE, by the way.  I've had this since before Scarlett was born, back when they cost $70 - got it at my baby shower. It's wonderful, and has lasted well over ten years.

But they used the swipe-y thermometer.  I walked through a windy snow to get inside the doctor's office, and waited about 20 minutes to be seen.  The nurse swiped me, and the thermometer read about 97 degrees.  Uh, no. I'll grant, a lot of the inaccuracy was on the part of the nurse, since it was fairly obvious by touching my skin that I was running a fever, and the nurse made no attempt to check me elsewhere. She simply shrugged and said "I guess being out in the wind made your temperature drop." Hello???? Yeah. Snow and wind will cure my ills.

But still, the thermometer didn't read right. Thus, I don't trust it.

This has been a Public Service Announcement. Reading is FUNdamental!
