Ugh.

It's not cool tonight.   Well, it is outside, but not in here.  I laid in bed with my sliding glass door open until I heard a raccoon outside chirring at my cat.  That was enough.  Can't trust a raccoon not to try and come through the screen. So the door is closed.

My head hurts and it's spinning every time I turn it.  My hair is too hot, and running the fan on the old unit isn't helping any more.  I don't think I'm going to make it to work tomorrow.

So I came back in here.  Three reasons.
#1, it will help me get sleepy.
#2, to tell you this:

When we were at Brent's on Monday we watched Emeril after dinner.  All three of us enjoy cooking shows, and we had a good time.  Scarlett and I were on the sofa, and Brent was in his chair.
At one point Scarlett took my hand and asked me why I didn't have any of my rings on.
She said "See? I have MY ring on."
I told her I didn't feel like wearing them all the time.  "All-the-time is saved for a special ring."
And she said "Oooh..."
Then she said

"Well I hope you get that ring Mommy, for your sake.  And for my sake, too."

I felt a little guilty about letting Brent hear something that he could interpret as a HUGE HINT.  But it wasn't that, so I let it be what it was.

The next night at dinner, Scarlett asked me if Brent liked Brussels Sprouts.

I said "No.  And why are you doing that little victory dance in your chair?"

"Because that means we have another thing in common."

"Why does that matter?"

"Because you might marry him some day."

I told her that Brent said that probably wouldn't happen.  So it probably wouldn't.

And she said "Mom, people change their minds all the time.  It might only take one little thing...."

And #3 - to offer this to anyone who made it to the end of this post.

I will send handmade gifts to the first three people who ask for them in a comment here.   You have to give me 365 days to get it to you, though I don't think it will take that long.  And you have to be willing to post this same offer on your own LJ once you receive your gift.

I got my gift in the mail today from another LJer.  It's a wonderful homemade body scrub, with olive oil which I love, and rosemary and rue.  NUMnumnum!!!

Now I'm yawning. So good nite.

CHIHULY!!

So far we have four confirmed LJ'ers going to Parkersburg to walk around and be skeert on October 26.   (no wait, three LJ'ers.  Jenny can't go cause she's gotta work or some industrial crap.)

Tour starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Blennerhasset Hotel.  Which is a scaaaary place.

I figure the Blennerhassett has plenny-o parking, so we could prolly park there.  (Is this pidgin enuff fer ya'll?)

It's $8 for each grownup and $6 for each kid under 13.  Of which all our kids are.  Yard apes. Everrlast one.  Well, cept for Laine. She's just sneaky.  (Gawd I luv that kid. SO much she thinks I'm weird. lol)

Blennerhassett Hotel, 320 Market Street, Parkersburg.  Website.  & Map.  Okay, no map. Go to mapquest. It's easy.

Ya'll come!

EDIT:  Oh wait! Although members of Team Asshole WILL be going, I think this icon is more appropos.  I made it for my Leigh's house gang, although there will not likely be likker.

I really think I've done this before, but I can't help it.  I SO wanna be on Inside The Actor's Studio, and have James Lipton act like I hung the moon.

So here are the famous 10 questions attributed to Bernard Pivot that James Lipton asks everyone on "Inside the Actor's Studio" (feel free to edit this prologue and pass around as a meme).

In the comments, your own journal, or both if you're so ambitious, tell me --
1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. What turns you off?
5. What sound or noise do you love?
6. What sound or noise do you hate?
7. What is your favorite curse word?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

C'mon peoples. Play this time.   Behind the cut are my answers.  blahblahblah

I don't usually participate in this one because my icons are SO blatant.  But [personal profile] anita_margaritafound some to ask about, so here we go.

Fire:  I decided to change my layout to a fall theme
and these Chihuly pics were perfect with the color scheme.
So I added them to use for fall, will likely delete a couple when winter
comes around.  I call this one fire cause that's what it looks like.
Like I said - blatant.

Sunball:  Again, Chihuly for fall.  The word "Sunball" is funny to me
because Kentuckians use the word instead of "the sun".  I've actually
read the word in poetry written by a Kentucky man, and it's just such a
hillbilly thing.

Mollybird:  I LOVE parrots.  Have raised a couple, one of which was
named Molly.  She looked exactly like this bird. And of course her eyes
dilated like this when she was intensely studying something.  Parrots
are marvelous creatures. It's said that men in Roman times were
given a parrot to train to prove they were capable of commanding men.

Brain Candy:  Again, obvious I think.  But isn't it PRETTY??
Books are magic for me.  I can lose myself in one for hours or days
and the best ones ARE brain candy. Delicious, relaxing, pleasant to
the mind. And even if they don't last long, they leave a delightful mind taste.

Cherheart: This one just cracks me UP!  Cher as the Madonna.  It's brilliant,
because she looks so perfect in the character, and also because she's so
FAR from virginal.  But she IS passionate and a loving person. I use her when
I'm feeling amused and fond of someone.

MmmCheese!:  Mmmm cheese!  One of my favorite foods.

Blue Persian:  The name of the glass sculpture, again Chihuly.  Yes, I'm
obsessed.  Don't care.  I want to TOUCH this stuff!  Someday, brother.
Someday.

And if you comment here, I'll ask you about seven of yours too!
