Aw, yes. Many labs need good homes because they have a long and dreadful puppy stage that makes many 2-year-olds get put out. Poor babies.
But my little Leo is an apartment-sized shelter mutt (cocker spaniel/min pin and about 22 lbs), and he is a delightful little creature.
Actually, at my local shelter the other day, I saw this sweet little poodle mix (emphasis on MIX) with this shaggy little white coat and a goofy personality. He was gentle and quite with the look of a wire-haired terrier, but thicker, softer, cuter fur... and white. He was a doll. I'm not usually a small dog person, but I would have snatched this darling right up.
All that to say, they'll find a great dog. It's easy to do when the shelters are so full of them.
