I am angered by this turn of events. I can only hope that the Buckhannon Police Department, along with any citizens groups located in Buckhannon, will find a way to protect the families of the miners from the abominable behavior of these idiots. If nothing else, form a line to stand between the picketers and our mourners. What shame these people bring to the name Baptist.

What the fuck? I missed something reading that. Why are they picketing the funeral? Was one of the miner's gay? I didn't read that. Even if it was true, why the hell does that matter in their death? If this is the case then they should be picketing the funeral of every death of a gay person. I believe this is just a way to bring attention to themselves by piggybacking on a tragedy of a national level. This would be like picketing the funearls of people that died on 9-11 just because there were gays that died too. Why are the ignorant allowed to breed?

They do picket gay funerals and say the most horrible things. =(

Fred Phelps and his crew all need to be put to a slow lingering painfull death. Personally as much as he hates gays, i have to wonder if hes not fighting a deep battle denying what he truely wants, to be bent over a fence and ass raped.
then again, that would be a good way to put him and his group to death, just tie them out in a prison yard some where....

Phelps made noise about brimgimg his organic fertilizer to Canada, but death threats quashed that.

I hope none of those people are dumb enough to actually try that. Well, actually I hope they ARE, so they can reap what they sow, but... this kind of thing shouldn't go down at a funeral.

I've known about these people for years. The Pastor wrote a letter to the Queen Mum ffs, condemning her actions towards HRH Prince Charles for his affair with Camilla... he writes city officials calling them adulterers among other names and has been seen on Rikki Lake.

The fact of the matter is, no matter what he labels himself, I don't see much love here.

Fair enough to peacefully protest events that you disagree with from a spiritual perspective IF YOU MUST, but let those poor families have some peace. This is totally unnecessary and does nothing but turn people off.

The guy has either 11 or 13 kids - can't remember now, but all of them are lawyers and they keep the suits against them tied up in courts very well.

Well, I'm hoping the people of Buckhannon will rally around these poor people.
