Stevie was spayed on Monday and she didn't get back to her old self until yesterday. Mostly she just slept, guarded herself and hid. That's why I started giving her the pain meds.
If you aren't sure, give the vet a call. They are really good about answering questions over the phone. Stevie is the first cat I ever had to have spayed so I have nothing else to compare it too. All the others have been boys or already fixed when I got them.
I just try and compare it to that kind of surgery in a person. If I had my uterus ripped out, I wouldn't bounce right back either. Oh, and Stevie still won't let me look at her incision.
I would call the vet though, just to set my mind at ease. :)
